The purpose of the Recreation Program here at First United Methodist Church is to provide creative and meaningful leisure-time activities for its members and the surrounding community in a Christian atmosphere and setting. The recreation program gives individuals another opportunity to realize the value of the church. Most importantly, it provides a means through which persons can discover themselves in a meaningful relationship with God.

Church Retreat

An inspirational retreat is held the third weekend of October each year at Blue Lake in Andalusia, Alabama. Resource people lead sessions for the various age groups. For all those who attend, fun and fellowship are enjoyed through many special activities.

Leisure Ministry
Wednesday Night Suppers (year-round - 5:30 p.m.)

Delicious meals are served and fellowship is enjoyed by all who attend. Many programs are offered throughout the year. Each quarter a church-wide event is planned. Examples are the 5k Run/Walk Run for Missions, held in April. We also have a Church-wide picnic sometime in the Spring or early Fall.
