Sunday, 1 June 2008, is Dixon Moseley Day.
Dear Friends,
Sunday, 1 June 2008, is Dixon Moseley
Day.
Dixon Moseley is retiring. For the
last 15 years, he has served First Church as our Business Administrator.
He has diligently and faithfully helped our congregation and has
provided excellent leadership in his position. We owe Dixon our great
respect and thanks.
Please mark you calendars and make
every effort to be in church on 1 June 2008. We shall honor Dixon and
Janie Moseley during our worship services and hold a reception for them
in the Wright Place at 9:30 a.m.
Dixon and Janie Moseley are two
reasons why our congregation is the great blessing it is to so many
people. Let us share our gratefulness to God for Dixon and Janie
Moseley; come and express your thankfulness to them for their love and
service to First Church.
Remember – Sunday, 1 June 2008, is
Dixon Moseley Day at First Church.
Confirmation is the rite in which
those who were baptized when they were too young to take the vows of
baptism for themselves are given the opportunity to publicly profess
their faith in Jesus Christ and to assume the responsibilities of
membership in the Holy Catholic Church. This Sunday, 11 May 2008, is
Pentecost Sunday—the Birthday of the Church—and we shall baptize seven
persons and confirm twenty-nine others as members of the body of Christ.
If you have been thinking and praying
about becoming a member of First Church, let me encourage you to come
forward and join the Church this Sunday. Pentecost is one of the great
festivals in the Christian Year. What a great occasion to become a
member of the Church! Come and join us!
Please note that there will be a
reception for our confirmands in Wesley Abbey from 9:30-10:30 a.m. At
this reception, we shall also celebrate Mother’s Day!
These are great days at First Church!
Come and be with us!
Your Pastor,

Wesley Wachob
