Here at Pensacola First Church we are committed to our heritage of teaching and learning. We believe Christian nurture is vital to the life of every Christian and endeavor to offer many opportunities for learning. This section gives you information about our Christian Education program in order that you might find a place to belong. ChildrenAt First United Methodist Church children are a high priority. We offer a variety of programs including: New Adventure Bible Class for 3rd graders, WACCI Wednesdays, Kids For Christ (KFC) for 5th and 6th graders, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In addition, we have a part-time pre-school, the Learning Enrichment Program (LEP) and a full-time pre-school Noah’s Ark. We offer school age child care programs on site at N.B. Cook, Myrtle Grove and Ferry Pass schools. There is also school age child care offered daily at the church. Our programs are open not only to church members but to the community as well. Youth24:7 Loving youth where they are… encouraging them to
develop their relationship with God. Opportunities for youth include: MYF, retreats, choir tours, social projects, Sunday School, serving on youth council. AdultFirst United Methodist Church recognizes that life is hectic and sometimes overwhelming and lonely. As Christians, we know God is with us every day. First Church gives each of us the opportunity to join together with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in unique and educational ways. As Paul taught us in 1 Corinthians 12:14-31, "the body is made up of many parts" and "if one part suffers, we all suffer"; and "if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it". We often draw strength from fellowship with other Christians. First Church is a place where we offer membership in a community of faith and a place of acceptance. We believe that as Christians we are involved in life-long learning and maturing in the Christian Faith. Therefore, we offer a number of different settings for Christian nurture. The first opportunity is a broad and reflective Sunday School. We encourage everyone to visit each class and choose the one you feel the most comfortable with. With the often hectic and varied schedules of adults, we endeavor to offer a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth through small groups. One of our most popular programs is entitled Disciple Bible Study and new groups will be beginning in August and January. There are a number of short term as well as on going small groups that are available to meet the various needs of adults. Email or call the church for details. Area Map
